This individual never knew what the future had for him in its pockets. Belonging to a small rural town of Kokrud of Sangli district in Maharashtra, Viswas completed his schooling from New English School, Shirala.
In the year 1988, this young intellect scored the aggregate of 88% in his 10th standard. Though he was pursuing this higher studies in science, he, later on, took BA as his Bachelor’s. However, the reason he developed his interest in arts was to support his preparation for the UPSC examination. Viswas completed his graduation from Rajaram College, Kolhapur. Being a down to earth personality, he never discusses his hostel days. The reason this becomes interesting is that he shared his room with the notable ‘R. Madhavan’. One of the eminent artists of today’s time.
When looking into his family’s history, not much is known about him except for the fact that it was financially unstable.
His Educational Journey
IPS Viswas Nagre Patil belongs to the 1997 batch of IPS cadre. At the age of 25 years, this young-spirited soul cracked the UPSC exams.
Since then, he had been posted on several designations considering his overall work experience and professional ethics. Even though he cracked the most desired job of the nation, he still pursued his interest in education. In 21 years of his service, after UPSC, Viswas Nagre completed his MBA in Police Management and LLB.
His IPS Journey
In June 2019, this active personality served as the Commissioner of Police in Nashik. There, he worked and facilitated his powers to supervise the traffic rules and regulations. At the same time, he formed a team to track any mishappenings against women in the region.
To support his cause, he attended a wedding and gifted two helmets to the groom and the bride for their prolonged safety. Moreover, he adds, “We have taken a lot of efforts in creating awareness on the use of helmets like gifting helmets to newlyweds is one of our initiatives. We have NGOs and good Samaritans support this cause.”
This 46-year-old officer has served at various positions during his life. Starting from 1997, he was situated at S.P of Nanded in Maharashtra. Later on, he became the Superindentent of Police in Ahmed Nagar. However, the time passed and he held the same position with his efforts in various regions of the state. Currently, he is serving as the Commissioner of Police in Nashik, Maharashtra.
In 2008, he was serving as the Additional Commissioner of Police in Mumbai.

– He was presented with the President’s Police Medal for Gallantry for his role in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.
